A normal day for popular content creator Abdurrahman Aziz known online as “Mr Exclusive” turned into a nightmare of pure hatred on the streets of Norwood, Johannesburg. Now, Aziz is fighting back legally to stand up against shocking religious and racial abuse.
The incident started when a man driving a white Porsche Cayenne GTS began aggressively tailing, hooting, and flashing his lights at Aziz’s car. Thinking the driver might just be a fan who recognised him, Aziz rolled down his window. Instead, he was hit with a wave of racist and furious abuse. Video recorded at the scene shows the driver, identified as Rodney Plett, launching into a disgusting attack, shouting horrible racist slurs including “Indian c***”.
The attack quickly turned into explicit Islamophobia and political bullying. In a moment that has sparked outrage across South Africa, Plett used the war in the Middle East to insult Aziz. He shouted that he now understood why Israelis are “killing you in Gaza,” using a global tragedy to humiliate a fellow citizen.
Aziz refused to let this horrific abuse slide. He has officially opened a criminal case of Crimen Injuria at the Norwood Police Station. To ensure the attacker is held accountable, legal practitioners Asif Ismail and Riyad Amanji from IA Law will be representing him in this matter.
The legal team at IA Law is working directly with the police. They want to make sure the state treats this as a serious crime, not just a petty argument. In South Africa, Crimen Injuria is a serious offence that covers intentionally destroying someone’s dignity.
When One Nation Media reached out to Rodney Plett for comment, he refused to talk about the video. He told reporters: “I wish I could speak with you but the matter is with the lawyers now. They will call you tomorrow.”
One Nation Media also reached out to Abdurrahman Aziz for further comment, and his legal representatives are handling communications as the criminal case progresses.
As the video continues to go viral, this case is being watched closely as a test of how South African law deals with public hate speech and religious bigotry.
