Bellarmine Mugabe, The son of former Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe, has pleaded guilty in the Alexandra Regional Court, Johannesburg, to pointing a firearm and contravening South Africa’s immigration laws.
Mugabe’s co-accused Tobias Matonhodze has pleaded guilty to attempted murder, defeating ends of justice, illegal immigration, possession of ammunition. He told the court he shot Sipho Mahlangu twice on February 19. Both have been convicted on the charges based on their guilty pleas.
They have been in custody since March for shooting and injuring Mahlangu, who worked as a gardener at their plush Hyde park home.
The pair appeared in the Alexandra Regional Court, north of Johannesburg.
