The attacks were seen as Iran’s belligerent response to President Donald Trump’s “olive branch” after he had postponed planned attacks on the country’s energy plants and infrastructure following what he claimed were “productive negotiations” with the Islamic Republic’s officials.
However, the Al Arabiya news agency reported Tuesday claimed Iran’s new Supreme Leader, Mojtaba Khamenei, had agreed to negotiate with the United States and reach an agreement, suggesting a potential diplomatic breakthrough amid ongoing hostilities. Al Arabiya citing Israeli media sources.
