Background voices in the clip added to the controversy, with one person referring to the riders as \u201cbarayin daji\u201d, a Hausa term commonly used to describe local terrorists known as bandits.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">In a <a href=\"https:\/\/x.com\/policeng\/status\/2069883191138115636?s=46\">statement<\/a> on Wednesday, police spokesperson Anietie Iniedu said the riders were \u201cduly recognised members of the Vigilante Group of Nigeria and registered hunters\u201d supporting security operations in Musawa and Matazu Local Government Areas of Katsina State.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A review of the footage shows dozens of motorcycles travelling in convoy.
