{"id":1004,"date":"2026-02-15T12:40:44","date_gmt":"2026-02-15T12:40:44","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/1newsnetwork.com\/?p=1004"},"modified":"2026-02-15T15:12:47","modified_gmt":"2026-02-15T15:12:47","slug":"syrian-army-takes-over-al-shaddadi-military-base-in-hasakah-after-coordination-with-us","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/1nationmedia.com\/index.php\/2026\/02\/15\/syrian-army-takes-over-al-shaddadi-military-base-in-hasakah-after-coordination-with-us\/","title":{"rendered":"Syrian Army takes over Al-Shaddadi military base in Hasakah after coordination with US"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt\"><p class=\"wp-block-post-excerpt__excerpt\">Base is considered one of most prominent strategic sites in the Syrian Jazira region <\/p><\/div>\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/haber.aa.com.tr\/#\"><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/haber.aa.com.tr\/#\"><\/a>By Laith Al-jnaidi<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Syrian Army has taken over the Al-Shaddadi military base in the countryside of Hasakah in northeastern Syria, following coordination with the US, the Defence Ministry said on Sunday.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The army assumed control of the base after coordination with the US side, the SANA news agency said, citing the ministry\u2019s Media and Communications Directorate, without providing further details.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The base is considered one of the most prominent strategic sites in the Syrian Jazira region, owing to its geographic location linking the governorates of Hasakah and Deir ez-Zor.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The base had been under the control of the US-led international coalition against ISIS (Daesh) terror group since 2016, and was used as a main hub for managing operations and securing oil fields.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Northeastern Syria, commonly referred to as the Jazira region, encompasses the country\u2019s territory east and north of the Euphrates River.
