Iranians woke on Saturday morning to the sounds of massive explosions across their country as the war launched by the United States and Israel shows no signs of ending.
As the US/Israeli attack on Iran enters its second week, President Masoud Pezeshkian says Iran will never capitulate after US President Donald Trump demanded “unconditional surrender” as Tehran continues to strike targets in Israel and the Gulf region with drones and missiles.
Iran’s ambassador told the United Nations Amir-Saeid Iravani that the US and Israel “recognise no red line in committing their crimes” against his country, as “densely populated” civilian areas are being bombed.
Meanwhile, UN experts have called for independent investigation of the attack on the girls’ school in Iran’s Minab that killed 165 students this week. The call comes as media report that the US military is likely responsible for the attack.
Iran is saying they are ready for a long-term war. The IRGC is talking about one wave after another of retaliatory strikes targetting the Israeli military as well as the US assets in the region.
Iranian President Pezeshkian apologised meanwhile to the Gulf countries and said Iran is not going to attack them if no attack comes from the territory of these countries.
He began his statement with a reference to the residential areas, including hospitals and schools, that have been targetted in Iran and he also called for unity among Iranians to defend the country when it comes to Iran’s sovereignty.
